ORION 2026: first experimentation of a C2 capability dedicated to electromagnetic warfare
During the joint exercise ORION 26, a Command & Control capability dedicated to electromagnetic warfare was experimented for the first time, under the lead of the French Cyber Defence Command (COMCYBER), with OCTOPUS.
AEGIR contributed to this experimentation with its OCTOPUS solution, which provides the software backbone for an EW COP (Electromagnetic Warfare Common Operational Picture).
In practice, OCTOPUS gives headquarters a shared and dynamic view of activity in the electromagnetic spectrum, so that this domain can be fully integrated into joint operational planning and execution.
Conducted since 2025 in close cooperation with operational units, this work aims to give the operational command level the tools to integrate electromagnetic warfare into multi-domain operations. Thanks to the COMCYBER teams and all the personnel involved.
